Union Housing Authority proudly recognizes the outstanding efforts of our Resident Services Coordinator, Mary Owens, and her organization, Sisters on the Move, for organizing and hosting a heartfelt Breast Cancer Awareness Banquet on Sunday, October 25, 2026.

Mary's commitment to breast cancer awareness extended beyond the banquet. She and the dedicated ladies of Sisters on the Move participated in a community awareness walk, beginning at the Union Housing Authority administrative office and continuing through the surrounding community. During the walk, donations were collected to benefit the Breast Cancer Association, demonstrating their commitment to making a difference through awareness, outreach, and action.

The banquet was a special celebration honoring breast cancer survivors for their courage, strength, and resilience. Among those recognized was one of our very own UHA employee, Eugene "Bones" Smith, who was honored as a breast cancer survivor.

Each survivor received a special gift bag as a token of appreciation and recognition. Guests enjoyed a delicious full-course meal, complete with sweet treats, in an atmosphere of fellowship, encouragement, and celebration. Union Housing Authority Executive Director Barry Hall was also among the featured speakers, offering words of encouragement and support.

At Union Housing Authority, our mission extends far beyond providing safe and affordable housing. We believe in building meaningful relationships, uplifting individuals, celebrating their accomplishments, and supporting initiatives that positively impact the lives of our residents and the greater Union community. Union Housing Authority is committed to Serving with Purpose & Strengthening Our Community.
